Media Taxonomy
I decided to approach this assignment first by dividing media into six categories — Print, Broadcast, Film, "Palette," Audio, and Performance — which constitute the header "The Physical Medium." I organized media by their physical components because it was the more baseic way to relate the physical with the human. An important aspect of media is its physicality. From header I organized a complementary header, "The Human-Interpretation Medium." This header includes the human interpretation of the physical medium; the components of this interpretation of "message" depend on "the creators" (senders) and the "audience" (receivers). My dual headers do not take into account overlapping media or un-orthodox media. However, I feel that it serves as a basic comparison between physical and un-animated media and non-physical human needs.
